Our institution is considering going to a smoke free campus.
I am looking for a roll call of those campuses who have made that transition along with benefits and pitfalls connected to the change.
Thanks in advance.

There is a new DHS/FEMA course entitled, Active Shooter-What You Can Do. Here are some of the details:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announces the availability of a new Independent Study Course titled: Active Shooter, What You Can Do (IS-907), a no-cost training course developed to provide the public with guidance on how to prepare for and respond to active shooter crisis situations. An active shooter is defined in the course as an individual “engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area. In most cases, there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.”

I am looking into using students as call takers (dispatchers) in our office
Do any of your institutions do that same?
Are there any issues that I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

It's September 1. The students are back on campus. It's a new school year. If you are visiting the site today, you will notice IACLEA Connections has a new look. We have redesigned the home page with a more attractive layout and easier navigation. There is a new top-line navigation section. The Profile section is now a separate category. Within this category is your profile, contacts, communities, networks, inbox, RSS feeds and this is where you can adjust your preferences for how you wish to receive emails. The directory is where you can find a member, conduct an advanced search, or view your communities. Libraries is the home for the Resource Libraries. This is where you can add a document to a library, search for a document, create a Favorites page and view your documents. Discussions is where you can find all eGroups, such as the popular IACLEA-l membership eGroup. Here, you can post a message, search for past message threads and adjust your settings or your electronic signature. The Blog feature has also been separated out into its own top-line category. This is where you can view blogs or create a new blog. We welcome your comments on these changes to IACLEA Connections. [more]
