Chair Scott VanScoy and the 2011-2012 Campus Crime Prevention Committee have developed two great resources for campus public safety agencies: a list of crime prevention training programs and resources and a list of university and college crime prevention programs with contact information, weblinks and programs and services offered. Copies of these resources have been posted to the Campus Crime Prevention Resource Library.

Q: For those institutions that have BIT's, who is using a graded threat assessment model & who is using a more fluid scale?
For example, some institutions classify risks in categories such as 1,2,3,4 or low, moderate, severe. Others simply list risk factors but do not classify in a certain category.
There is a lot of information out there but I would like to know if there is a "best practice" consensus or report on which model to use. Resource links are good too.

IACLEA President Paul V. Verrecchia asked me to share with the membership two new resources that offer recommendations and guidance to law enforcement agencies in responding to First Amendment-Protected Events. These resources were produced by the U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security. We thank Jeff Allison of the FBI Office of Law Enforcement Coordination and Douglas Bodrero, President of the Institute for Intergovernmental Research, for bringing these resources to our attention.

Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad with this product? I am looking for some off-the-shelf programs to use for our Critical Incident training program and this seems pretty reasonable.
