Does anyone have an Active Assailant Policy for non-sworn/unarmed security officers that you would be willing to share? Thank you

    Good morning, Tom

Is your department armed or not armed?

      Good morning Phillip,

Our Department has both armed and unarmed officers. We just rewrote our Active Attacked directive. I can send you a copy if you wish.

I can’t say it is a “policy” but we train our team to respond the same as our community – Get Out, Hide – Fight – based on their unique situation. We encourage them to get out if safe and to respond to an entrance point where police are expected to arrive or set up a command post. At this location, they will be safest and can provide resources to responding officers such as campus specific knowledge, their radio, their keys, access cards and if they have a patrol vehicle share maps and other campus resources.
