University of Kentucky Symposium & Training | Feb 2–3 | Lexington, KY
I wanted to share the upcoming University of Kentucky Symposium & Training taking place February 2–3 in Lexington, hosted in partnership with the University of Kentucky.
This is a small, discussion-focused event for campus safety, emergency management, compliance, and administrative leaders, built around practical experience and real challenges in higher education. I’ve been working closely with Chief Joe Monroe and the University of Kentucky team to shape a program grounded in real operational experience.
You’ll hear directly from a strong group of peer leaders, including:
• Joe Monroe, Chief of Police, University of Kentucky
• Jack Briggs, Associate Vice Chancellor, University of Colorado Boulder
• Paul Owens, Chief of Police, Case Western Reserve University
• Ben Hunter, Associate Vice President for Public Safety, Indiana University

What the two days look like:
• Day 1 (Feb 2): In-depth Clery Act & Stop Hazing Act compliance training led by Jim Moore, followed by a hosted networking reception with speakers and attendees
• Day 2 (Feb 3): Hear proven strategies from national public safety executives managing threat assessment, multi-campus incidents, and complex emergencies.
There is no cost to attend, and the format builds on the success of a similar event at Notre Dame that brought together 65+ professionals from 35+ universities nationwide.
We began sending invitations last week and are already approaching 50% capacity, with seating intentionally limited to preserve the quality of discussion and networking.
If this sounds valuable for you or colleagues in your network, I encourage you to take a look soon.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
