Happy New Year IACLEA Southeast Region Members,

I hope this message finds you well as we begin 2026. As we settle back into the swing of the new year, I wanted to share several important updates following the Executive Board meeting held in December 2025, along with details regarding our ongoing Southeast Region Monthly Meetings, training opportunities, and a new member resource.

    <hr>IACLEA Association Updates

In December, members of the Executive Board attended the inaugural Canadian Region Symposium. Congratulations to our Canadian colleagues on a very successful one-day event.

Following the symposium, we held our Winter Business Meeting, during which President Rob Kilfoyle shared several important initiatives and updates, including:

    • Behind the Badge – A new online member spotlight initiative

    • Mentor Connect – A program designed to foster mentorship and peer-to-peer support among members

    • Inaugural Canadian Symposium recap

    • Domestic Preparedness Committee updates

    • Establishment of two new IACLEA Sections:

      • Academic Medical Center and Hospital Section

      • K–12 Safety Section

    • Surveys

    • Efforts to secure new corporate sponsorships

    • Letters are sent out to new chiefs/ directors by President Kilfoyle.

Additionally, it was reported that there is a 95% membership retention rte. Let us continue to encourage others to join and maintain their membership in IACLEA.

IACLEA has also launched a new Member’s Connection Portal, featuring a fresh look and a more user-friendly experience. Congratulations to the Association on this update, which enhances member access and engagement.

If you experience any issues or have questions regarding the portal, please report them directly to info@iaclea.org so they can be addressed promptly.
